Rescue is by no means an easy line of work, but there are always happy endings to share, and that is one of the things that keeps us going! See what a difference rescuing, and supporting rescue, makes! Following is the latest from some of our adopters:
Willow (formerly known as MiMi)
8/16: Purrr-fect home!! Mimi, now known as Willow, has found her "happily ever after" with her new fur sister Monroe!! Willow was our very unique poly-dactyl Siamese Mix kitten who won the hearts of her new family and now is "livin' the dream" in a very cat savvy safe and loving home! THANK YOU for choosing rescue adoption!
Ember's Adoption Story...
8/16:Ember was found abandoned and sick in a trailer park. She was taken in by a kind woman and surrendered to our rescue. Ember kept a strong spirit and was affectionate to us through it all. She was adopted by a wonderful couple who wanted her to join their loving and safe family! Ember is so affectionate and will provide them with years of purrs, cuddles and endless love. Thank you for choosing rescue adoption!! Here is the latest from her new family: "She and Garth [family dog] are making lifetime friends. He is a gentle 1 year old boy and giving her lots of space! She has been very busy exploring every nook and crannie! She slept on our bed most of the night but woke up to do some occasional nighttime browsing! We love her!" |
Good Golly Miss Molly!!
7/16:Pretty Molly was going through a very hard time when she made her way to the Furget Me Not family-she had lost everything she had ever loved and known, was scared, and unsure of her future.. She was misjudged and abandoned, yet kept a sweet spirit through all of her struggles. Molly was able to find the perfect fur-ever home with her new parents where she is able to feel the unconditional love that she deserves. No more is Molly sad or alone! She is very loved and cherished, and that is just what she needed! She and her family visit us often at events and keep in touch. Thanks for rescuing, so happy for this sweet girl and her new mom and dad! "Molly and I loved seeing all of you again. Thanks for bringing us together just 12 days ago!" |

Ellie and Silver....together forever!
5/16: Just two days after their very pregnant mother was taken into rescue care, Ellie, Silver, and their three siblings were born. They were the cutest kittens! Each of them ended up finding wonderful fur-ever homes. Ellie and Silver were adopted together and are doing great! The latest from their family: "I was thinking last week that I needed to send you the latest picture – here is a selfie while on my lap. They are doing great, and 5.1 pounds each. They are both snugglers (Silver has to be in the right mood) but they are just the best. I’ve been taking them each weekend to our little house in portage lakes, and they have adjusted to both houses so well. The vet thought that Ellie might have some “rag doll” in her because she is so limp and trusting when you hold her. I guess that is a trait of rag dolls. Anyway, thanks for checking "
Bentley, formerly known as Baxter!
5/16: Baxter was a young Bichon Frise owner surrender. He found just the right family! Someone experienced with the breed and she had rescued before! Thank you for choosing rescue adoption!

She's been a wonderful addition to the family." Love it! Thank you for adopting and for teaching kids about rescuing and loving animals-hope for the future!!
Miles...
2/14/16: The handsome pup pictured above is Miles, fka Rascal. He had been abandoned and was found running the streets with another pup.. He was very frightened and very eager to please and belong to a family. Miles is such a sweet boy who aims to please and loves to be with his people.. Miles was adopted on Valentine's Day, and now has a new sister, Joni, and two loving parents. They are a lovely family! Miles has settled in nicely and sure seems happy to be a part of such a loving home. Congratulations to MIles and his new family. Thanks for rescuing!
Windsor...
3/16: This is Windsor. His family passed away, leaving him alone and distraught. Fortunately, the perfect family came along to rescue him! They are everything he needed; such kind hearted people with an understanding and patience for Windsor in his old age. He now is living out his golden years amongst many hugs and tlc. Windsor is doing great, and even has a 13 year old Schnauzer sister. We couldn't have imagined a better place for Windsor! We are so encouraged by experiences like Windsor's adoption. Congratulations to Windsor and his new family! Thanks for rescuing!
Moses...
:"Moses came to us on a stormy day in June 2014. He was found face down in a puddle of water in a yard. The keen eye of the rescuer saw something that he thought was trash that had blown in the yard from the storm. He went over to pick it up and found a 3 week old orphaned kitten that was very sick with very labored breathing.
We worked quickly to assess this little guy and get him warm. He was covered with ring worm and both eyes were infected. He weighed all of 8 ounces! We offered kitten milk replacement and guess what...he was hungry! That was a good sign!
We got him into the Vet and he was treated for Pneumonia, ring worm and one eye actually had a puncture wound. He was very critical and was not expected to live but the caretakers would not give up on him!
After being loved more than he had ever known, and a very long treatment and recovery period, Moses (meaning "being drawn out of the water") is now thriving and a very happy 1 year old kitty!!! He has a wonderful personality and is a absolute lover of life!
Thank you Fur-get Me Not Rescuers for not giving up on him! We can not imagine our lives without him!!!
THANK YOU to great animal advocates who provide loving foster and fur-ever homes for these innocent souls!
