Meet Oakley!  *Adoption Pending* Oakley is a healthy 2 year old male Toy Shih Tzu weighing 8 pounds.  Oakley is a sweet boy and loves attention from his person.  We would like to see him in a home that has plenty of time to devote to him.  He thinks he's a little prince, lol.  He enjoys the company of other dogs his size, however we prefer for him to be the only dog where he would get all of the undivided attention from his human.  He is intimidated by large dogs and he doesn't seem to mind cats.  Oakley is house and crate trained.  He is small and likes to be a lap dog.  Because he is young, we want to make sure he goes to a family who can commit to 10-15 years of Oakley being with them.  We are requiring a secure physical fenced yard for his safety.   Oakley would like a quiet home with children 12 years of age or older.

Oakley's adoption fee is $400 which includes his neuter, up to date on vaccines including Rabies, de-wormed, Heartworm tested Negative and current on heartworm, flea/tick prevention.

Meetings are scheduled after the rescue receives and approves submitted applications to make the best fit for Oakley.  Adoption applications can be submitted online at furgetmenotrescue.org

Meet Buckshot! Buckshot is 2 years old. He is a 27 pound Male Blue Heeler Mix who is also Deaf. He was surrendered to a high kill animal control facility along with a younger litter of puppies. Unfortunately, another rescue pulled the puppies and left Buckshot behind. We couldn't leave him there alone, confused and afraid. Hard-working, intelligent, and loyal—that’s a Blue Heeler in a nutshell. Historically, these dogs were bred to work on farms as herding dogs and they still thrive when they have a job to do. Their fierce loyalty makes them even better workers. Even if you don’t work on a farm, you can put them to work. They love figuring out puzzles and retrieving toys. We are only considering families with kids 10 years old or over as the heeler mixes like to herd small children sometimes. Because he is deaf we are requiring a home with a secure physical fenced yard for Buckshot. With his breed instincts, he is very active and will also be a "Velcro" dog because he is deaf. He will look to his human for communication and direction. He does know some hand signals.

Because of the attention he needs being an active and also deaf pup, we would like to see him as the only dog in the family where he will have all focus on him. Buckshot is neutered, current on vaccines, including Rabies, dewormed, tested Negative for Heart Worm and current on prevention and current on flea/tick prevention. His adoption fee is $250.00. If interested in meeting Buckshot, complete an adoption application online at furgetmenotrescue.org
